Credentials

I received a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Washington in 1992. My B.A. is from the University of California, Los Angeles (1983).  I completed the Certificate Program in Clinical Theory and Practice in May of 2002, and am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker, Washington State License No. LW00005412. Prior to starting a private practice in 1996, my experience included working at community mental health centers, the Evergreen Hospital emergency room, and Fairfax Psychiatric Hospital.

Specific strategies I may use to address a given problem will vary, but are likely to include elements of Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Work can either be short-term or long-term, depending upon the nature of the problem.

In order to grow professionally, I regularly attend continuing education trainings, participate in supervision and peer consultation, read, and work on my personal growth. I participated in the Children's Hospital Dialectical Behavior Therapy Community Consultation Team from 2003-2007. I am currently a member of the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work.
